Catheter Care & Maintenance is designed to maintain comfort, dignity, and safety for clients living with urinary or other indwelling catheters at home. As an experienced RN, we provide regular assessments, catheter changes when ordered, and careful hygiene support in your own environment.
During each visit we check the insertion site, observe urine characteristics, review fluid intake, and look for subtle signs of infection, blockage, or skin breakdown. We also assess mobility, toileting routines, and clothing choices that may affect comfort or catheter function. Families frequently share that catheter care is one of the tasks they worry about most. We take the mystery out of it.
You and your caregivers learn gentle cleaning techniques, securement methods that reduce pulling, and clear red-flag symptoms that should never be ignored. By having a Registered Nurse oversee this high-risk device, you lower the chances of emergency visits for blockages, accidental removal, or severe infections. Clients often report less discomfort, fewer leaks, and greater confidence moving about their home. Most importantly, intimate care is carried out quietly and respectfully, preserving privacy and a sense of normalcy for both the client and the family.
